In order to include Mayer's principle of active processing in my authentic assessment activity, the participants will create a wiki in order to solve the problem-based learning activity.
2. What kind of multimedia presentation must you create to effectively present key concepts and skills to your participants (video, PowerPoint, podcast, screencast, interactive tutorial, or other)? How will you include Mayer’s principles of dual coding and limited capacity in your presentation?
I will use various pre-training videos such as an online tutorial, PowerPoint, Voki for my presentation. There will be an introduction video in Voki These videos will have visuals and audio and audio and text. Mayer (2009) stressed that humans are limited in the amount of information that they can process at one time. In order to avoid an overloading of information, the pre-training and the lesson will be chucked into segments.
3. What kind of graphic organizer would be best to give your participants to help facilitate learning in your workshop?
I will provide students with the KWL graphic organizer for use during the workshop.

The participants will be given a scenario: "Should the school cafeteria concept be changed to enable outside businesses to come in and set up a food court," in order to apply the concepts and essential elements of project-based learning. The participants will continue to work in their group of fours. Participants will access each other and provide feedback during the project and after their presentation. An assessment rubric will be provided to students in order to develop and complete the project.
